Sharing is Caring

It is always nice to share, so that is what my coworker and I did today for lunch! There is an artery-clogging sandwich at a local deli that is so good but so bad for you, so we always split it when we go there. It is called the Tuesday Special at a local family-run establishment called Manhattan Deli. The Tuesday Special is turkey, ham and Swiss cheese covered in Parmesan sauce.

When you order the Tuesday Special on Tuesday, it also comes with a brownie to share which ended up coming back to the office with me to enjoy later.

I went back to enjoy my half this afternoon.

Delicious and it totally hit the spot this afternoon. After that share-athon, I had Jack Johnson's The Sharing Song running through my head all afternoon.

Listening to Jack Johnson never fails to make me happy.

After work, I headed to the gym for Zumba. I have missed my Tuesday class a couple times and most of the songs were new, but I still had a great time. I will enjoy it ever more next time when I know what I am doing.

On my way to the gym, I noticed that I was perilously low on gas.

I got a little worried when I was stopped at this stoplight for two lights. While I waited for the light to turn green for the second time, I mentally cataloged who I would call to pick me up when my car ran out of gas.

Lucky, I made it to the Y! Whew! Pulling into the parking lot was quite a relief. I was running a little late for class, so I didn't have time to fill up beforehand, so I made sure to get gas as soon as class was over. It was a still a scorcher when I was leaving the gym. 100 degrees! Yowza!

I met Huband and a friend at Granite City (after I got gas of course! I wasn't going to tempt fate twice). I decided to balance out my heavy lunch with a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Dressing on the side, of course! A chicken Caesar salad is one of my favorite restaurant meals. Salads taste so much better when you don't have to wash all the lettuce yourself!

The salad was HUGE and I felt like I had a never-ending plate of food. Finally, I gave up.

And asked for a To Go box, of course. There is plenty left for another meal! I love that they labeled and dated it.

All in all, a pretty good and delicious day.

How do you compensate with a heavy meal? Eat less? Workout more? Nothing?
