Hawaii Here We Come!

We just booked an 8 day trip to Hawaii in September! We are travelling to paradise to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. 5 years already? I can't believe how fast time flies.

We spent a week in Hawaii 3 years ago when I had to be talked into going. I did NOT want to go to Hawaii because I don't usually enjoy tropical vacations and I had heard that Hawaii was really expensive. I had been to the Canary Islands, Bahamas, Mexico and Costa Rica. Although I had a good time, I didn't want to spend my precious vacation time on going on a tropical vacation.

Somehow, Husband was able to talk my stubborn butt into going to Maui in October of 2007. What no one told me was that Hawaii was the MOST PERFECT PLACE ON EARTH. Who knew?

The sights are gorgeous. It is amazingly lush.


And has some cool black sand beaches.


And waterfall after fabulous waterfall.


And volcanos.


And crashing waves.


More crashing waves.


And a resort with gorgeous pool with an amazing view.


Last but not least: there are NO SNAKES in Hawaii. For someone who is irrationally and completely phobic of snakes, it doesn't get any better than that!

I arrived on the island not knowing what to expect. And let's be honest, I am sure I was a tad bit irritable. When we left 7 days later, I was more relaxed than I have been in my whole uptight, high-strung life. I was one happy Joy, pun intended.

Bottom line, I am so excited for our trip. I need to get my gym-skipping, junk-food-eating butt in gear so I can rock my bikini this fall!
